Jeep Wrangler 1997-2003, Tub Rails by Body Armor®, 2 Pieces. Rock-crawling can get a little extreme, and the bodywork on your Jeep can get a little scratched. Oops. Add these Tub Rails to keep most of the damage contained.

Body Armor 4x4

Features:

  • 1.75” steel tubing
  • Durable textured black powdercoat
  • Protects tub from damage in extreme off-road rock crawling
  • Keeps tub straight for proper sealing to hardtop
  • Drilling required
  • Designed to match the look of the Body Armor Rock Crawler side bars

When its Jeep body versus a big rock, the rock generally wins. But sometimes rock crawling makes this one-sided discussion between your fragile sheet metal and that rock necessary, if not exactly welcome. Protect your tub bodywork with a set of these tub rails. A dinged tub is not only ugly, it doesn’t seal well against the hardtop, admitting cold air, rain, mud and wind whistles once you get back to the road. These hardened rails will just slide along the rock or tree as you pass, keeping your body straight. Some drilling required.

Note: Tub rails are not designed to protect passengers from side impact that may occur in a motor vehicle accident.

Not Just a Bolt On
Body Armor® - Tub Rails
The tub rails look great. I have 3 Jeeps with tube doors and tube steps. I added these to all three Jeeps. Lots of compliments. If you are wanting a bolt on product though, you are in trouble. The side of the Jeeps is dead on straight. The rails, because of welding all have a 3/16 of an inch bow in all 6 of them. The rails are so strong, that the Jeep sheet metal will deform out to them when you are installing to the Jeep side. A trip to a local machine shop, and a hydraulic press was required to get them flat enough to look and work correctly. A foam gasket is included, but does not work to fill the difference between the two surfaces. Also, it will hold water and rust the sheet metal. I had to carefully caulk with black caulk. (Lowe's has it).
