Started in Bloomfield in 1966, Manley® is a world-renowned brand trusted for its high-performance products by die-hard street performance fans and racers. Originally named Manley Speed Equipment, Inc., the brand was born from the extreme passion of its founder, Hank Manley, for performance and racing. This love for race cars and the world of motorsports started in 1960, when Hank rebuilt a 312 CID Ford V-8 engine and mounted a camshaft and three two-barrel carburetors in his 1956 Thunderbird. Six years later, Hank Manley unveiled its first line of top-of-the-line performance parts, which included stainless valves, forged pistons, camshafts, lifters, vanadium valve springs, push rods, and timing chain kits. In 2002, Manley stepped into the high performance passenger car market as an OEM provider of connecting rods for the 2003/2004 Ford SVT Mustang Cobra. Soon, the brand was awarded the highest supplier rating by Ford.
