In late model vehicles, the engine crankcase, oil pan and oil pan gasket are all designed to form a complete sealing and NVH system. The so-called gasket "die cutter" businesses of the past are not capable of producing late model oil pan gaskets. MaxDry Precision Molded Rubber Gaskets are designed with specific molded features that complement the channels, cutouts and so forth which are manufactured into today's engine components. Compression limiters may be incorporated in the oil pan or may be part of the gasket design. And don't think that all molded rubber gaskets are created equal… some gasket suppliers try to cut corners by skipping the "post cure" process during manufacturing.
