Chrysler Fifth Avenue 1987 409 Pro Race™ Ignition Wire Set by Taylor Cable®. Taylor’s biggest ignition wire is custom sets designed to fit muscle cars, performance cars, sports, compacts and truck applications. The .409-inch/10.4mm diameter wire has exceptional dielectric strength to resist arcing, while the low resistance provides a hotter spark.

Ignition wires are pivotal for keeping your engine running smoothly and letting it generate the maximum of power and torque. A hot, fat spark is necessary to light the fires inside your combustion chambers. Stock ignition wires start to degrade the day your car rolls off the assembly line, and in a few years may no longer be capable of routing all of the energy from the coil to the spark plug. Extra resistance is one problem caused by loose connections or corrosion, or broken conductors inside the cable’s jacket. Failing insulation, without its original dielectric strength can leak energy to nearby wires or off to any nearby metal. The result is a misfire, often one too subtle to detect or be picked up by the engine computer, but one that costs you gas and power. Whether you’re commuting, towing or trying to set a low E.T., upgrading your plug wires will insure a clean-running, powerful engine.
