Car manufacturers learned early on that the hood was more than a lid for the engine compartment; it soon became a canvas for car stylists to express themselves, and some of their finest work appeared on the classic and muscle cars of the 50s, 60s and 70s. But by now the hood on your classic has endured decades of exposure and is probably rusted, dinged and dented. Since the hood has an immense impact on the outward look of your prized possession, you should maintain your hood components in proper condition and replace them when the time comes.

The area right in front of the windshield is often rusted. Leaves, debris, and moisture can get into the cowl through the vents and cause rust to appear and spread, which eventually can cause the panel to leak and allow water to enter the interior through the vents during heavy rain or car wash. Leaky and corroded cowl panel car detract from your vehicle’s appearance as well as allow the unwanted elements to get into the engine bay and bring damage to the wiper system parts. Don't waste a lot of time and money trying to bring your original hood to its proper condition with used parts that don’t just fit and appear right, or paying the high dealer price. Factory reproduction cowl panels from Goodmark will help bring your vehicle back to life. Each cowl panel is CAD/CAM designed to make sure it exactly replicates the original part, and then it's manufactured with the most modern tooling. All top-notch Goodmark replacement parts are tested for fit to ensure that you'll get the finest product that looks and fits just right. They are a sure way to bring your vehicle back to a showroom appearance in no time flat.

Superior quality cowl panels from Goodmark are manufactured with utmost care and attention to detail to meet the highest quality standards and provide the reliability and value you've come to expect. The use of high-grade materials and the latest technologies ensures that these products are able to sustain an immense amount of abuse as well as deliver excellent resistance to the elements which results in long service life. Since they are designed with your special needs in mind, you are sure to get the quality and functionality you crave for.

Goodmark® was founded in 1991 by car enthusiasts, restorers and collectors just like you. They recognized that there was a need for quality restoration parts, especially sheet metal parts, if the restoration of their beloved American classics was to continue. Since that time, Goodmark has created a complete line of sheet metal, trim parts, and accessories for popular cars like the Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang, and for previously difficult to restore cars like the Dodge Challenger and Plymouth Barracuda. Goodmark uses CAD/CAM (computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing) software and modern tooling and manufacturing techniques to create parts that are identical to factory original for perfect fit and finish. Quality parts tooled and manufactured by Goodmark are enabling many more American classic and muscle cars to return to the road, looking just as fine as the day they rolled off the assembly line.

Warranty Information

Goodmark warrants its parts to the original purchaser, to be free from defects in manufacturing and materials for a period of 120 days from the original date of purchase. Goodmark also will require pictures of the defect prior to a claim being filed. Liability of Goodmark under this warranty is limited to the replacement of the defective part or a refund of the purchase price of the product. Goodmark hereby disclaims all other warranties, whether expressed or implied, including but not limited to all warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Goodmark is not responsible for damage caused by abuse, incorrect installation, modification, shipping, accidents or normal wear; nor is Goodmark responsible for labor charges, inconvenience or other expenses related to installation or use of Company products.

Goodmark Sheet Metal FYI Due to the nature of the material and production, the sheet metal products you receive may have scratches, dings, small dents and other minor imperfections which are considered normal. These imperfections will easily be corrected during the initial filling, priming and sanding of your repair or restoration. Goodmark does not consider dings, minor dents, scratches in the EDP primer or any other minor imperfection to be defective or damaged. ALL sheet metal panels will require some preparation and manipulation during the install process for a show quality fit and finish. Goodmark recommends that all sheet metal panels should be test fit before any prep work or paint is applied. Minor modifications such as elongating mounting holes, adding shims, etc, are normal and may be necessary when you are installing the product.

A few key facts to note are: Some driving conditions such as racing can put added stress on a vehicle's frame causing it to twist out of the factory's original tolerance specs. Poorly performed body work from a previous collision or restoration can cause problems with the body structure to which the panels are attached. A vehicle that has been sitting motionless, collecting rust, etc. for years may have developed a slumping frame, especially a sub framed car, which can cause fitment issues when installing new sheet metal products such as floor pans, fenders, doors and quarter panels.

The above mentioned situations are just a few key examples that can cause sheet metal panels to be misaligned during a repair or restoration. One other fact to consider is the tolerances on a classic vehicle were not nearly as exact as they are on today's modern vehicles. The primary reason is the assembly of most vintage or classic cars was performed by hand, not by the robotics that are used in today's modernized facilities. Because of this, the mounting points and bolt-holes were unique to each vehicle. Due to the above procedures performed in the past there really is no such thing as a direct, "bolt on" body panel when it comes to older vehicles. Goodmark recommends that you hire a licensed professional that possesses the proper tools, knowledge, skills and experience necessary to install the new panels on your vehicle. A professional can anticipate or repair any imperfections your panels may have prior to installation. Prior to returning any defective body panel or sheet metal item to Goodmark, please contact Company customer service department. You will be required to send to Goodmark a digital picture of all defects before you receive an RGA. Goodmark will not replace a panel should it be deemed that the panel is not defective, nor will Goodmark give compensation for labor fees associated with installation.
