Don't tow around a trailer with malfunctioning lighting. Aside from the fact that it's likely to get you an equipment ticket, it's just plain dangerous. Other drivers don't always expect a trailer to be right behind your truck. And if they don't expect it and don't see it because the lights aren't on, they just might drive into it. That means it's a bad night for them, you, and your trailer. Because trailers often sit for long periods of time between uses, and can be damaged by docks, fork lifts, or just the process of loading and unloading, trailer lights usually require plenty of maintenance. That goes double for boat trailers, because water and electricity don't mix well.
Give yourself and other drivers a break and keep your trailer lighting working properly. Corroded sockets, burned-out bulbs, cracked or missing lenses which all should be fixed promptly. Consider upgrading to LED lights from incandescents, and you'll save power, gain performance, and probably never need to change a burned out bulb again.
Don't forget that those reflectors on the side and back of your trailer are not just a good idea – they're the law, just like the running, brake turn signal and clearance lights.38.47 40.73

The lights came with everything I needed, plus, to complete the job. I backed into the edge of the ramp as I was backing my boat into the lake and smashed the tail light to pieces. I replaced it with one of the new ones that came in the kit and have a replacement in case I do it again. Very easy to install. Was this review helpful for you? YesNoShare this review:
