VELGEN WHEELS AND RIMS
At the same time, Velgen Wheels also realized that the price point would be an issue. In part, the choice of low-pressure casting took this into consideration as well, seeing as low-pressure casting is cheaper than high-pressure casting, although the wheels it produces tend to not be as lightweight. Although it was a bit of a trade off in terms of performance, the brand decided that being able to sell their wheels at more affordable prices would enable them to enter the market a lot more convincingly.

Instead of attempting to compete head on with the other wheel manufacturers in the market in terms of the sheer diversity of their designs, Velgen Wheels decided to let the quality of their wheels speak for themselves. Instead of manufacturing gravity cast wheels, the brand decided to use low-pressure casting to produce their wheels. Their wheels are more dense and have better mechanical properties than numerous competitors that manufacture gravity cast wheels.
Due to the influx of wheel manufacturers both in Miami and across the country, Velgen Wheels had to face up against stiff competition as soon as it was founded in 2013. Considering the fickle market and the constantly shifting trends, Velgen Wheels realized right from the get go that it would need to gain a foothold and establish a solid reputation – or it would risk being unable to generate the sales that it desired. To that end, the brand went back to the basics.
Despite that small compromise, one area that Velgen Wheels has steadfastly refused to show any signs of give and take was when it came to the quality, durability, and strength of their wheels. Each and every wheel the brand manufactures is put through a stringent quality control process that involves multiple different tests that evaluate it based on an array of different aspects. The emphasis that Velgen Wheels places on quality is further illustrated by a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty and lifetime structural warranty that they offer on their wheels.
So far, the measures that Velgen Wheels has taken to distinguish themselves from other competitors appear to be working well. Initially, the wheels that they sold were mostly for enthusiasts who were looking for unique designs that were not commonly found on the market, but as word began to get around, the brand's popularity began to surge. While it may be far from being famous, it is safe to say that Velgen Wheels is on that path and the commitment it has shown to its product is being noticed by many enthusiasts. Aside from its emphasis on quality, Velgen Wheels also undertook very proactive measures in order to give its wheel designs exposure. Not only has the brand been reaching out to its target market directly via auto shows and events, but it has also gone the extra mile on the online front too. For a fledgling brand, the efforts that have been channeled into showing off its wheels certainly seem to have paid dividends as it has helped Velgen Wheels to stand out and get noticed for its inherent strengths.
I love my dual concave setup and the perfect amount of depth that comes from the +25 offset. The gunmetal really goes well with the BlueSlate as well. Yes, they are low pressure cast.
Awesome! I really like those. Maybe, it's just me, but I think the stripe on the bottom would look good in that same color of the wheels. Same with hood too. Those white hots look good with almost any color wheels.
