You'll need to choose your ball mount carefully. The most important consideration is the weight of the trailer you'll be towing, followed closely by the GTW (Gross Towing Weight) of your tow vehicle. Be certain that every single component – receiver, ball mount, and ball – on your vehicle is rated to tow the biggest trailer you'll ever tow. (Don't forget that odds are, eventually someone is going to ask you to tow their trailer, not yours. Their big, heavy trailer.) We recommend rating the ball mount and ball to match the maximum towing capacity of your vehicle, not the weight of the trailer you want to tow today.
Choose a ball mount that will make your trailer as level as possible when the hitch is coupled. You may need a mount with some drop or rise, depending on the trailer and tow vehicle's relative heights. Don't forget to account for the tow vehicle squatting when it takes the weight of the trailer on the hitch.
Remember to keep the ball mount as short as feasible, because the further the ball is behind the rear axle, the more the trailer will steer the tow vehicle on a windy day. Also, the further back the ball is, the more the tongue weight of the trailer will push down your rear suspension.147.45Brand: Draw-Tite Part Number: 1432 UPC: 016118084450

The hitch lined up nicely with the frame holes, but the largest holes in the frame needed to be enlarged a bit to fit the hardware through. My vehicle had an undercoating that made the problem worse. Even without the undercoating, you will likely have to grind two sides of the hole a bit to get the flat bar through it. Only need to do this to the two larger holes and everything can be passed through them fairly easily. You will need to bend the two hangers on the muffler about 1/2 inch so that the muffler does not rattle on the hitch where it mounts to the frame. I ended up removing the muffler (not a big deal - just 2 bolts and a couple of rubber mounts that slide off) to get better access to the holes on the exhaust side and get the muffler back on one of the rubber mounts that is basically locked in place by the hitch. The instructions are kind of hard to understand regarding the rubber mount near the back of the vehicle. Basically, I figured out that you have to leave the rubber mounts on the vehicle because once the hitch is installed, you can't get the one in the back of the vehicle off or back on again. All in all, it took about an hour to install from start to finish with a second person to help hold the hitch in place while getting the nuts on the bolts - it's not an easy one person installation. The hitch looks great installed. It does not stick out/hang down or look out of place at all. It seems very well put together. There was some chipping of the paint on the hitch (It looked like shipping damage), that I had to touch up, but I would buy this hitch again. Was this review helpful for you? The instructions said 45-minute installation, but with two people, it only took 10 minutes. It fit perfect! I just carried two bicycles with us on vacation and it held up excellent. Was this review helpful for you? Good product. Everything is concealed except the receiver connection. Looks good on vehicle. Small design flaw. There is a bolt that must be cut off a little in order to install one of the bolts. I used a sawzall. Was this review helpful for you? The hitch arrived in 5 days. It installed in 45 minutes and works great. If the bolt plates that go inside the car's frame were made 1/8" more narrow and the fish wires for the bolts were described better in the instructions, the installation would have been even easier. This is a very good product. Was this review helpful for you? YesNo
