A quality motor oil used within its optimal temperature range will retain its engine protection capabilities for many miles. However, if engine operation rarely allows the oil to come up to temperature, or if the temperature range is exceeded, engine oil life will be severely reduced with ensuing engine damage. The combustion process creates water vapor and chemical compounds. These boil off if the engine oil reaches normal operating temperature, but if they don’t harmful acids can be created that can harm engine parts like bearings. High oil temperature can also be harmful, causing the oil to break down and become too thin to provide the necessary lubricating cushion between parts, resulting in contact and parts damage. If you’re aware of your engine oil temperature, you’ll be able to react and alter engine operation to keep the oil temperature within the proper operating range, or shut the engine off to allow the oil to cool. To know the status of this critical system, rely on an Auto Meter Oil Temperature Gauge.
The Auto Meter Oil Temperature Gauge is available with electric or mechanical senders, with analog or digital display, short sweep and full sweep analog displays, in 2 1/16” and 2 5/8” gauge housings, in various styles, face colors, bezel finishes and lighting combinations.
Electric 270 degree full sweep analog gauges are powered by digitally controlled rugged stepper motor drives and lab grade solid state sensors for extreme precision. These are the best gauges available and the choice of top racing teams worldwide. They deliver the highest accuracy levels of any gauge type, combined with the durability and superior resolution of a traditional mechanical gauge and the safer operation of traditional electrics.
Electric digital gauges have bright, LED lit microprocessor controlled displays for the ultimate in precise, high-tech readings. Choose a digital gauge when you need an eye-catching visual reference and an exact numeric reading. Electric short sweep analog gauges feature advanced 90 degree, quick reacting, precise air-core movements and simple 3-wire installations.
Mechanical analog gauges include a bronze bourdon tube, 270 degree sweep movements, and durable nylon gearing for ruggedness and long lasting durability. They require no electrical power for operation so they’re an ideal choice for racing vehicles with no or low powered electrical systems.
Each gauge comes with sender, adapters/fittings, and instructions, and it’s backed by a limited 1-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.63.13Brand: Auto Meter Part Number: 3347 UPC: 046074033476

The housing is a good quality steel. It has a fairly large hole at the back with a rubber grommet for feeding the wires through. There is also a long, wide slot from that hole along one side to the front, so the clamp can get a good grip on the meter. I'm very pleased with this unit. I prefer function over form. Was this review helpful for you? YesNo(5)APPEARANCEEASE OF INSTALLATIONPRICE/VALUEQUALITYLittle Gauge2005 Chevy Colorado

This little gauge exceeded all of my expectations and I'll order another one. Most importantly, it makes a quick and reliable connection to the valve stem. It's a solid design which feels comfortable in my hand when taking a reading. The dial face is easily large enough to read and 30lbs is straight up on the dial making it easy to approximate the number without reading glasses. Was this review helpful for you? This meter works very well. I hooked it up about a year ago and it has been working perfectly ever since. It plugs in to your OBD port under your dash. If you watch the meter it will help you to keep your foot off the gas pedal. It is accurate for rpm, and mpg.Was this review helpful for you? This gauge fit perfect into my pickup that didn't have a tach. Wiring was pretty simple. One wire to ignition (fused), one to dim lights, one to ground, and one to tach signal. I've had this gauge for about 2 months but have had my other autometer gauges for over 2 years and no problems. Was this review helpful for you? YesNo
