A strong, rigid and corrosion resistant double-wall aluminum tray is the foundation of the Sidearm carrier. It attaches to Thule rack systems, round bars and most factory racks, and cradles wheels from 20" to 29" diameters with tires up to 2.6" wide. And along with the SecureHook, your bike is secured to the tray with a ratcheting strap through the rear wheel. The Sidearm is versatile, accommodating bikes with disc brakes, thru-axles and non-traditional frame designs. Two One-Key lock cylinders (sold separately) can be used to lock the bike to the carrier and the carrier to the roof rack.
A Thule roof carrier protects your bike from road dirt better than hitch or trunk racks. And the stable and secure roof rack attachment also gives you the versatility to add other accessories to the base rack. The Thule Sidearm Roof Bike Rack comes with everything required for installation, including detailed instructions. The limited lifetime warranty applies to the original purchaser of the product, and warrants the product against manufacturer's defects in materials or workmanship.158.95Brand: Thule Part Number: 594XT UPC: 091021086050

I purchased the Thule Gateway bike rack from the CARiD website just prior to relocating from Southern California to Southern Oregon. I stowed 1 road bike on the made-for-2 rack and traveled over 700 miles at speeds exceeding 80mph, no problems. I took it upon myself to watch video reviews of the installation before departing. This is definitely advised, one if not the best way to ensure the installation is correct, will stand the distance and speeds. Was this review helpful for you? The product is not easy to install. If you have physical strength, it's okay. If not, this is not the rack for you. It seems sturdy, but I was disappointed when one of the bumpers on the rack fell off the second time I used it.Was this review helpful for you? Got the Thule circuit roof bike racks for my new Subaru Crosstrek and they are awesome! Easy to use as is all Thule equipment, and they work with the crossbars that were factory installed on my car just perfectly! Bikes go everywhere with me!Was this review helpful for you? Once the rack is installed, it holds bikes securely in place and makes theft difficult. I had some problems installing the rack the first time and the instructions were of marginal help. I could not attach the trunk hooks without opening the trunk, once I attached the hooks it was just a matter of adjusting the cables to achieve the proper fit. The rack's size and weight make it difficult to handle while installing. I did not have any problems with trunk dents reported by some users. Two light weight folks could install it easily. Despite the initial installation problems, I recommend this bike rack for anyone that cannot use the trailer hitch version. Was this review helpful for you? Fits great on my 2007 FJ Cruiser. Love the improvements from the original rack; especially the sway bar and locking device. Very easy to install with clear instructions. I was amazed at the ease of installation of this product. I took my time and read the directions carefully. When I tested it out with my bike, it seemed secure. It comes with a bike stabilizer and a strap for extra securing of the bike. The only thing, I wish it had was a strap to keep the front wheel of the bike from moving. But I secured it with a bungee cord that I provided. Good value for the money. Was this review helpful for you? YesNo
