Toyota has officially revealed the all-new Japanese Vitz model, known here as the Yaris. The sub-compact has become nearly unrecognizable in the latest release, featuring a sharper design and a number of upgrades.
The most notable changes touched the interior, which no longer has those awkward centrally located gauges. The vehicle got more room inside due to the overall length increase by 1,38 inches. The rear seats have now 1,38-inch more legrom and the cargo space has also become deeper by 5,7 inches.
Engines range from 1.0L to 1.5L, mated to either a CVT or 5-speed manual and front-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive. The 2012 Vitz/Yaris is the first vehicle in the world to use the UV-reducing glass in the front-door glass. Plus, the windshield has just one wiper with an integrated washer nozzle.
Its not yet announced when the new Yaris will be introduced in North America, but its expected to go on sale late next year.
