Properly designed, properly built and properly mounted grille guards offer very good protection for a vehicle front. The protective value of small chrome bars protruding under the bumper is debatable, but there is no denying that they look good and that they provide an excellent mount for auxiliary lights.

So I bought this grille guard after attempting to purchase the Black Horse version (was told that it'd be on backorder for over a month) and I'm happy that I went with it. As the name indicates, it's a one-piece grille guard, which means that it's a bit more bulky/awkward to put on, especially by yourself, but all the welds appear to be well done and I believe that the one-piece will last longer than other "bolt-together" grille guards. The powder-coating was also good-quality and the front of the vertical beams on the guard body come with tight rubber covers to prevent the paint from cracking if you ever need to use the guard as a push bar. The only downsides I saw with this purchase were: 1) Installation is a pain. It took me at least 3 hours to put this thing on. Additionally, it doesn't make it clear in the advertisement but you will have to cut the plastic splash guard underneath your vehicle so make sure you have the tools to do that when you start. 2) The overall price was a bit steep. The guard itself was $360 and shipping for this beast (being heavy and an awkward shape, as it comes as a one-piece) was $115...$475+/- for the entire thing. Overall though, I'm very happy with the guard and it looks great on my vehicle!
