The Retain Short Ram Air Intake System replaces your restrictive factory air intake system with a large, free flowing high performance Pro DRY S air filter and a mandrel-bent aluminum air intake tube. This system will dramatically increase airflow compared to the stock system, with resulting gains in horsepower and torque. You'll get improved performance you can feel. And this system looks so great; you'll quickly get into the habit of popping the hood to show it off!
The improvement starts with the Pro DRY S air filter, which combines high airflow and filtration efficiency with the convenience of oil-free maintenance. It contains 2 layers of randomly porous synthetic fabric, which allows approximately twice the airflow when compared to a typical stock air filter. The increased airflow results in more horsepower and torque, better throttle response and more miles per gallon. But this improved airflow and performance hasn't been gained at the expense of engine protection: the Pro DRY S has an excellent 99.2% filtration efficiency rating. The pleats in the filter are evenly spaced for greater dust holding capacity and the tips are rounded for better airflow. They're also 30% deeper than comparable aftermarket air filters for longer service intervals and greater dust holding capacity.
A specially developed 3-angle velocity stack smoothes the airflow transition from the air filter to the mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube. Unlike factory air intake tubes that have sound baffles and make awkward bends, the Takeda intake tube is designed to give the engine less restrictive breathing, incorporating larger diameters and smooth bends. The end result is the maximum possible airflow velocity. The intake tube is available in anodized black or polished clear-coat finish to add style to your engine bay.
The Retain Short Ram Air Intake System comes with everything needed for installation, including all couplers, hardware, and detailed instructions. Some systems include a black powder coated heat shield, to help isolate the air filter from engine heat and allow it to take in cooler air. The Retain system fits completely under the hood, so installation can be completed in usually 45 minutes or less. This system is backed by a 2-year limited warranty.144.87 261.35

This item was for the 2013 Lexus IS 350, so I put it on my 2014 IS 350, and it does not fit very well. It looks good under the hood and sounds great. Was this review helpful for you? YesNoShare this review:(5)APPEARANCEEASE OF INSTALLATIONPRICE/VALUEQUALITY2007 Infiniti G35

Would have 5 stars all around, but it had some small scratches on it when I unboxed it. Easy installation. Great sound and real increase in power.1 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful for you? I was so excited when I received the intake. So, I installed it the day of delivery. I'm not a mechanic, and I got to say installing this was one of the easiest things I've done. Literally, anyone can do it. As for sound and performance, the sound is amazing, and I get a little performance boost. That little hp kick in at a higher speed/rpm. I love this intake and would recommend it to anyone.5 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful for you? Love this product. Took around 2 hours to install with the help of YouTube since the instructions were somewhat lacking. Love the sound it makes once you hit around 3000 RPM (doesn't sound rice at all). Little horsepower increase with the Florida heat and very little to no MPG gain because I want to hear the engine.5 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful for you? Since this review is just about the product, it was pretty great. There was only one hiccup with installation: a pre-set screw thread was set too deep, and wouldn't allow the screw to thread properly. It took about 30 mins of 'jerry-rigging' it, but finally bore the hole out enough to get a good thread. I am extremely pleased with the end product, and recommend Takeda to any Lancer owners. My Lancer looks and sounds awesome, but most importantly, has much more acceleration.5 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful for you? Amazing sound. I really like the deep sound instead of the conventional "ricer" high pitch sound. Noticed my power kicked in at a lower rpm, around 3200 instead of the usual 4000-4200 rpm. And it looks great under the hood. Super easy to install. Took about 20 minutes and it bolted up perfectly!7 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful for you? I will say I am very impressed with the product. In the installation everything went as per instructions, it took about 30 minutes. As far as critics go, I have a couple of things: 1. The hose from the crankcase was very short to the connection point on the main pipe; 2. The position of the pipe came very close on the turn at the back of the engine bay, and there was less than 1/2 inch clearance over some metal tube, part of the ABS braking I think; 3. I wish there was a suggestion about the slits in the Air box where the filter is to see if there was any advantage to running some silicone to seal the folds in the air box? 4. The plastic hoses that connect the main pipe to the air box and to the carb might have been made of silicone to let them flex a little more and have longevity. I did an 800 kilometer Navigational Rally 2 weekends ago and most of the rally was on gravel roads and many were snow covered, but the unit was wonderful. So great product all around.2 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful for you? YesNoShare this review:
