    About Suzuki Aerio

The six years experience on the world's market gave the Suzuki Aerio impressive results in sales. The model was presented in 2001 and went on the US market in March 2002. The American Aerio came as a 5-door hatchback and a 4-door sedan body with S and GS trim levels for the sedan and SX for the hatchback. The model was equipped with a standard 2.3 L 4-cylinder 155 hp engine and 152 pounds-feet of torque, and it teams with a 4-speed-automatic or 5-speed-manual transmission. Also it was known as the Liana ( 'Life In A New Age') for some markets outside the States. The production was stopped in 2007 and Aerio was replaced with the new Suzuki SX-4.

Year to year changes of the 2002-2007 provided the Suzuki Aerio with the unique style and performance. All-wheel-drive became available in the 2003 model year. Now the Suzuki's enthusiasts could have fuel economy of about 25 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. Also this year Suzuki renamed the Aerio GS and made it LX. 2005 the car got such new auto parts, as clear-lense tail lamps and new massive bumper and grille. By 2007 Aerio dropped its hatchback body style, leaving a 4-door sedan in base and Premium trims. Both Suzuki Aerio body styles share key engineering and mechanical features, but each of them has its unique peculiarities. A four-speed automatic is standard on the AWD version and optional on the front-wheel-drive model, which otherwise comes with a manual five-speed.

All-wheel-drive System (AWD) makes the Aerio the most affordable full-time AWD vehicle available in the United States. Aerio adds an upgraded AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system with six speakers and now all models come standard with an antilock brake system and with electronic brake-force distribution. The interior configurations of the Aerio was engineered for a variety of passenger and cargo needs, resulting in a vehicle for any lifestyle. Plus to it, Aerio offers a lot of safety features including a reinforced unibody structure with cross members on the floor designed to control the impact energy in case of a collision.

The Suzuki Aerio has maintained its presence by being a smoothly handling compact that delivers both performance and style. The vehicle doesn't skimp on the details when it comes to designing Aero parts. It is finely tuned and ready to go, providing a fair amount of pop for the highway that goes a long way in downplaying its compact roots. The interior is surprisingly roomy and comfortable, supported by its ergonomically sound seating arrangement and further bolstered by a conveniently designed dash panel. All in all, there isn't much doubt. The Aerio is a statement-making machine that still carries its weight.
