Smart Car Fortwo Air Intakes

About Smart Car Fortwo Performance Air Intake Systems

The Smart Fortwo is available in the US market since the introduction of the second generation of this car in 2007. The little David designed to put bigger gasoline hogs in their place, the Fortwo is the quintessential city car – it's compact, maneuverable, extremely economical and easy to drive. Far from lacking in the creature comforts department, the Fortwo is actually pretty roomy inside – as the name suggests, it can seat two adults with lots of legroom for both the driver and passenger. Safety has been a top priority in this Smart's design, as is proven by the steel cage cockpit, a set of airbags, traction and stability control and ABS among the car's features. The diminutive, but capable 1.0-liter engine of the Fortwo is to be praised for 33/41 mpg EPA rating.

An ideal choice for city commuters looking for a compact and stylish urban car, the Fortwo can become even more fun with some of the replacement parts we stock at CARiD. "The intake was a breeze to install. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. There was one quirk with my VW though, the secondary air injection hose connection was a tight fit. I had to remove the intake pipe from the silicone connector and affix the hose to get it to seat properly and click into place. After buttoning everything up, I took it for a test drive, the 2.5-L motor pulls stronger between 2000 rpm and 4500 rpm. Do not have to downshift as much either. Wonderful product that delivered what it said it would."

"This product is definitely a must-have when buying a starter performance part for the Mitsubishi Lancer. It has a deep tone when hitting power bands and maintains power throughout RPM range. I had the Injen cold air intake, and the short ram feels more powerful and has a much meaner sound."

"This intake was really easy to install and looks really good under the hood. When you first start the car, the engine sounds a lot better, and when you drive it, man, it makes a great sound!"
