About Skoda Octavia

The Skoda Octavia is a small family car manufactured by the Czech automaker Skoda Auto since 1996. The first generation Octavia, that shared its platform with the Volkswagen Golf, was released in 1996. The car's name revived from the model produced between 1959 and 1971. The vehicle was available in five-door liftback and station wagon and had a conservative, spacious and capable design. This car consolidated its predecessor's success amongst buyers, who rather liked the idea of a five-door hatch or estate car bigger than a Golf, still slightly smaller than something Mondeo-sized like.

The second-generation Octavia, that came off in March 2004, was not only bigger, but it also had a more confident and striking design. This Octavia had a fabulous driving position, great seats and simple, easy-to-use controls. The car was available with two four-wheel drive: the 4x4 and the Scout, both equipped with a Haldex Traction 4-wheel drive system. More than any previous Skoda, second-generation Octavia had such an upmarket feel to it that the car could rival its VW sibling. The Scout, which was announced in 2006, was available with the estate body style only, and had some SUV crossover style exterior parts modifications.

In 2008 the company unveiled a facelifted version of the Octavia at the Paris Motor Show. The modifications list included exterior parts changes (namely, renewed headlights and bumpers), mechanical changes and some interior features. The range of available engines and manual/automatic gearboxes was changed as well: for the first time appeared the 1.4 TSI and 1.8 TSI engines and the seven-speed DSG transmission. Twin front airbags, side and curtain bags, and ESP with traction control came standard on all Skodas.

It is luminous, it is versatile, and it is economical-the Skoda Octavia does it all. While designed and pressed to be a reliably sound mode of transportation, the Octavia satisfies in more ways than just sheer automotive dependability. Packaged in various body-styles, drivers look the Octavia to provide them with the needed accessories, whether they are searching for urban cruising or all-terrain functionality. What sets the Octavia series apart from the rest is the fashionable qualities offered throughout the ride's profile, cementing its status as a all-encompassing pleasure that looks as sharp as it performs.

A spoiler is intended to control the way the air streaming over the car is affecting the rear of the vehicle.
