Electric brakes on trailers are an essential piece of safety equipment. It pays to keep them operating properly. Because trailers are often idle for long periods of time between uses, the shoes and magnets, and their associated linkage and hardware (all of which is inside the brake drum where you can't see them or access them without major disassembly) are often corroded to the point of malfunctioning. It's worse; one long downhill grade while riding the brakes can cook the linings to the point where they crack and crumble. And you may not realize it, but the magnets wear out, sometimes as rapidly as the shoes. If you're going to go to the trouble of jacking up the trailer, removing the wheels and brake drums, save yourself some trouble and gain some peace of mind. Don't piecemeal the shoes and magnet while trying to make corroded return springs and adjusters work. Avoid the puzzle of installing all those parts: Just order up the entire assembly, already assembled and ready to go.33.06 44.29
