In 2010 the ultimate sports car Porsche 911 celebrated its 50th anniversary. Throughout years this legendary vehicle has been loved and wanted by everybody and the next-gen 911 is not an exception.
With market launch right around the corner, more details about the 2012 Porsche 911 are appearing on the Web. It will feature new lower fascias, side mirrors that attach to the doors, as well as raised head lights. The vehicle will get a bit smaller with a base engine to drop capacity from 3.6 liters to 3.4L liters. Despite the reduced volume, the base engine will produce 350-horsepower. The 911 Carrera S will be equipped with a 3.8L flat-six making 450-hp. Along with this, the overall length will increase by 2.2 inches and the wheelbase will be extended by 0.4 inches. The 2012 Porsche 911 will weight about 45 pounds less than the current base model and will come with 19-inch wheels. The 911 S comes standard with the 20-inch wheels.
The next-gen 911s cockpit has been update too in line with the Panameras interior design. With a clear 5-gauge cluster, stitched dash, wide raising center console and an electric hand brake, the car will have a classical top-notch and at the same time innovative, futuristic look.
The anticipated 2012 Porsche 911 will debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September 2011. No word on pricing yet, but dont expect it to be lower than $77,800.
