Specialized Tread Design

Specialized Tread Design
Excellent performance in all winter road conditions with low noise levels.

Designed for winter use, the Scorpion Ice & Snow stands out due to its excellent handling and supreme driving comfort. When driven on road, it promises excellent grip and low noise levels during low temperatures, even through water or on snow. Characterized by an elegant tread pattern with an asymmetric design. The wide longitudinal grooves and angled tread blocks ensure the most demanding driver remains in full control, even in the most complex weather conditions.

The Scorpion Ice & Snow tire features a tread rubber compound that remains flexible at lower ambient temperatures to enhance grip and handling in typical winter conditions. The tread compound is molded into a subtly asymmetric tread design that features a stable shoulder area to enhance dry road handling, circumferential grooves to provide hydroplaning resistance and help maintain good traction on wet and slush-covered roads, while angled independent tread blocks with circumferential and lateral sipes help the tire bite into snow. The Scorpion Ice & Snow winter / snow radials meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the mountain/snowflake symbol.

Founded in 1872, today Pirelli® counts 19 tire industrial plants, in four continents, operating through a widespread sales network in over 160 countries around the world. Pirelli is distinguished for its long industrial tradition, which has always been combined with capacity for innovation, product quality and brand strength. A strength which, since 2002, has also been supported by the industrial design project of P Zero, and which today has been further recognized by the Formula 1, for which Pirelli Tire is the exclusive supplier for the three-year term 2011-2013.
