Scorpion ATR All Season / All Terrain Tires (125000668) by Pirelli®. 265/60R18, Speed Index 130 mph, Max Load 2337 lbs, Max Inflation Pressure 44 psi, Tire Weight 39 lbs, Overall Diameter 30.5". The Scorpion ATR is Pirelli's On-/Off-Road All-Terrain light truck tire developed for pickup, crossover and sport utility vehicle drivers that want to combine on-road civility with off-road capability. The Scorpion ATR is designed to master long highway journeys, wet roads and the challenges of winter driving by combining paved road comfort and handling with rough terrain grip and maneuverability.
- Optimized tread pattern design enhances handling and control
- Unique grooves improve grip and roadholding
- Improved composite ensures maximum structural integrity
Off road, the Scorpion ATR is tenacious and dependable. On road, it provides luxury, exceptional traction and resistance to tread wear. It facilitates the most challenging off-road driving and resists the hardest shocks on uneven surfaces. Once back on the road, it provides safety when braking and during cornering. The Scorpion ATR delivers a high opposition to aquaplaning and low rolling noise, which enhances the acoustic comfort in the cabin, while still providing excellent traction in all road conditions.
The Scorpion ATR features a silica-enhanced tread compound molded into a quiet-running, symmetric all-terrain type tread pattern. A virtual continuous center rib and large, stable shoulder tread blocks provide directional stability and steering response, while interlocked independent tread blocks in the center tread area further promote acoustic comfort. Sweeping central circumferential grooves and lateral shoulder grooves channel water to resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. The independent tread blocks are siped to provide extra biting edges that enhance off-road traction on loose surfaces and in snow. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon cord to support the tread area, providing predictable handling and high-speed control, while polyester cords stabilize the sidewalls and enhance ride quality.
Pirelli tires has a quite stiff construction and does not usually require higher inflation pressures. It is designed for use at a pressure of approximately 2 bar, to be adjusted according to the type of car. The figures indicated refer to the “operating pressure”: the pressure of the tire when it is fully warmed up to working temperature. For accurate calibration, it is essential to consider that the difference in temperature between a “cold” tire and a “hot” one is quite significant, normally 0.5 bar.
Pirelli recommends the use of ordinary compressed air to inflate the tires, provided that the above procedures are followed. No special gases, such as nitrogen, are required unless the source of air is exposed to excessive humidity.
Always use a high-quality air pressure gauge in order to obtain reliable results. We also recommend that the valve stems of the wheels should be metal, instead of rubber, as they are more resistant to high temperatures.356.00Brand: Pirelli Part Number: 265/60R18
Founded in 1872, today Pirelli counts 19 tire industrial plants, in four continents, operating through a widespread sales network in over 160 countries around the world.
