Engine Coolant Steel Thermostat (17106.03) by Omix-ADA®. Temperature: 195F. The thermostat allows the engine to come to operating temperature quickly and then maintain a minimum operating temperature. It can fail by sticking in the open or closed position. If stuck open, the engine will run cooler than specified, usually indicated by poor heater performance. A thermostat that sticks closed will cause the engine to quickly overheat.
