MTS Gas Tanks
As the MTS Company has grown and expanded, its range of products has too, which is why today's MTS tanks are able to include their new O-rings, lock rings or gaskets packaged along with the tanks themselves. All of the tanks are manufactured for use in specific vehicles, and some may have listings that include measurements if the vehicle manufacturer had mixed year listings for that vehicle.
Despite still being a modest outfit, the MTS Company, L.C. has made a name for itself as a manufacturer of replacement fuel tanks from high-density, cross-linking polyethylene. Since its inception about 23 years ago, it has grown from producing just one type of CJ fuel tank to 67 different tanks for jeeps, SUVs, and trucks. Matter of fact, it now builds various other accessories associated with fuel tanks as well and is continuously developing new specialty parts.
Unlike other replacement fuel tanks, the quarter-inch thick high-density, cross-linking polyethylene that is used in the manufacture of MTS fuel tanks carries with it several advantages. For starters, polyethylene will not rust, nor will it crack even when exposed to temperatures of 150 F above zero or 160 F below zero. Because it has no welds or seams, these tanks do not have any weak spots and vulnerabilities that may end up failing and leaking.
Typically, MTS fuel tanks are based on specific models of vehicles. Right now, MTS caters to brands such as Chevy/GMC, Ford Bronco, Ford Pickup, CJ/YJ Jeep, Jeep J-Truck, Jeep Commando, Jeep Wagoneer, International Scout, Toyota, and Willys. Other jeeps, trucks, or SUVs that aren't supported by MTS just yet may very well be supported in the near future. Apart from its fuel tanks, MTS also offers air intake boxes, hoses and cables, along with sending units, straps, electric fuel pumps, and various other Jeep-related products such as fill and vent hoses, water pumps, fuel modules, gauges, and panels.
Most of the fuel tanks provided by MTS are relatively easy to install, and complete instructions are provided to do so. The majority of the tanks tend to have fairly similar installations, but there are some tanks that may need to be mounted a little differently or may require tabs to install. One nice feature on the MTS Company website is the 'Clearance' page that offers hefty discounts on certain limited lines of products that are undoing clearance sales. Granted MTS might still be young and finding its feet but it has already garnered worldwide recognition and looks set to continue to build on the foundation that it has created for itself.

Easy installation of new hose. The old one was kinked and cracked, and it took forever to fill up at the gas station. New hose has the bend in the correct location so it won't kink like the factory one.

I tried to find this product everywhere. Local auto parts, dealerships, online, specialty shops with no luck. If you need it, this is the only place you'll find it. Another site claims they sell, it but it's totally the wrong part! The dealership only sells the entire neck for over $100.

After thoroughly cleaning out, refurbishing (derusting and painting) the tank and replacing fuel pump and sending unit seal, the hoses slipped easily into place on the first try. Perfect length and correctly positioned bends.

This is a perfect fit for my 1985 CJ with an plastic tank. Hard to find this longer hose, have ordered the wrong part from other suppliers before - FINALLY, the perfect fit and I don't have to use radiator hose!

The straps are installed and holding up the tank beautifully. Stainless steel. so they should last decades. Sturdy material. Perfect fit for my Chevy Blazer.
