A Rebirth of Mercedes Benz C-Class Coupe

The styling revisions on the base Mercedes C-Class brought a more premium feel and made it look like a more expensive vehicle. According to Top Gear magazine, new C-Class is much sharper than the predecessor. Most 2012 models come with more powerful direct-injection gasoline engines, including the V6s, which are available for the first time with more fuel-efficient 7-speed automatic transmission. Models come equipped with Bluetooth audio streaming, new audio headunit along with a 5.8-inch color display, phonebook download, USB port, and album cover. COMAND with Navigation gets a 7-inch screen, display of personal photos, intermediate navigation destinations, SIRIUS weather, 3D city models, area avoidance and a larger 10GB Music Register. As for the interior, significant alterations, including the revised dash, reworked gauges, and improved interior materials, were made to change the impression of C-Class as the cheapest Mercedes-Benz.

After producing wagon, sedan and AMG models, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the first details about its latest coupe before it debuted at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The new C-Class Coupe uses the same front fascia and fenders as the C-Class sedan and receives a standard panorama sunroof. The new C-Class Coupe comes with bold AMG styling, split-folding rear-seats, front seats with integrated headrests, steering wheel shift paddles, and driver memory. The addition of 2 door coupe to the model line indicates that Mercedes C-Class is now hitting on BMW’s 3-series. Though it's not the first launch of Mercedes-Benz at manufacturing a C-Coupe, the new model is a different approach with numerous improvements added to the already good platform.

First Pictures of the 2012 Mercedes C63 AMG Leaked

Several days ago a few images of the facelifted 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG appeared on the Web. There is not much to pick up, still the photos reveal pretty much everything about the look of the next C63 AMG both inside and out.

The main details on the 2012 C63 AMG remain unwrapped so far, though it’s expected to get power from a twin-turbo 5.5L V8. If that’s the case, power output is likely to be in the 550-hp range, which is 100-hp more than the previous engine could make. Thanks to the forced induction, the facelifted C63 AMG is going to produce extremely flat torque of total 590 pound-feet. Therefore, a sprint from 0-60mph is expected to be achieved in mid four second range with the top speed touching 186mph.

It’s obvious that the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG will show vigorous performance, but we can only guesstimate until the vehicle is officially unveiled.

Along with a quite subtle facelift, the 2012 C-Class has got some significant changes on the inside with the inclusion of a new 4-cylinder base engine as well as a more powerful top-trim V6.

The new C250 is upgraded with a direct-injection 1.8L turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces solid 201-hp and 229 ft-lbs of torque. As a result, the new model has more torque and provides better fuel-efficiency with a 24-mpg combined rating. That takes the C250 right to the C300 level as now both cars reach 60-mph in 7.1 seconds.

The luxury C350, in its turn, finally gets more capacity due to a direct-injection V6 engine that makes 302-hp and 273 ft-lbs of torque.

More details on the 2012 C-Class makeover will be revealed at the Detroit Auto Show with coverage starting January 10th.
