About Mazda CX-9

The Mazda CX-9 is a full-size crossover SUV that made its debut in time for the 2007 model year. The CX-9 started off constructed off of Ford's CD3 platform along with the Lincoln Zephyr, Ford Fusion, and Mercury Milan. Unlike other crossover SUVs, the CX-9 is noted for its wagon-like appearance and above-average performance for its class. When the vehicle premiered, it was equipped with optional all-wheel drive (AWD) and a 3.5L V6 engine good for 263 horsepower along with 249 pounds-per-foot of torque mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. As for the model's dimensions, the Mazda CX-9 measured in with a wheelbase of 113.2 inches, a width of 76.2 inches, a height of 68 inches (Grand Touring- 68.3 inches), and an overall length of 199.8 inches.

Trim levels for the CX-9 included the Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring, with each offering an ascending list of options. Entry-level Sport versions showed off 18" alloy wheels, power accessories, remote keyless entry, air conditioning, and cruise control. Touring CX-9 models offered leather upholstery, heated front seats, Bluetooth capability, and heated side-view mirrors. The Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring, considered the top-shelf trim, took it a step further with 20" alloy wheels, xenon HID headlights, remote start, wood accents, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and an assortment of other luxurious amenities. For 2008, its second year on the road, the Mazda CX-9 underwent several changes, most notably to the powertrain. The first year's 3.5L configuration was updated with a new 3.7L V6 engine that pumped out 273 horsepower with 270 pounds-per-foot of torque once again directed through a six-speed automatic transmission. Also for this model year, the Grand Touring trim level displayed a new blind-spot warning system.

2009 welcomed in another round of updates for the Mazda CX-9 parts. Standard across the board was a trip computer and Bluetooth connectivity. All-wheel drive variants received a trailer-tow package while the CX-9 Grand Touring was given a standard remote garage door opener as well as an automatic-dimming rearview mirror. For 2010, the multi-information display panel was supplemented with a rearview camera. Likewise, the navigation system was upgraded with real-time traffic. On the outside of the vehicle, both the rear and front fascias were revised, including a new grille and other styling cues of Mazda CX-9 parts.

The CX-9 is not your everyday crossover. This versatile "CUV" has the capability to fit seven passengers in a pinch, unlike most its competition. Further boosted by zippy performance and a surprising amount of athleticism for a vehicle of this class, the CX-9 also inhabits style in a way that similar model can't measure up to. The CX-9 is attractive and dynamic, boasting a very sleek yet angular exterior body-style that is sure to get attention. When dressed up the right way, the CX-9 presents a package that is truly dominating.

Ask any serious off-roading expert what type of rear bumper is best for your 4x4, and they'll tell you the best bumper for extreme use (such as rock crawling) is one that's barely even there. What does that mean exactly? Translated, it means bumpers with edges that angle upward at corners and undersides that slope drastically upward will keep you out of...
Since the demise of built-in running boards after World War II, auto manufacturers have been using rocker panel moldings to dress up a vehicle area that would otherwise be plain-looking and nondescript. Technically, a rocker panel is the section of a vehicle’s body below the doors and between the front and rear wheel wells. For decades, stainless steel molding...
One of the more eye-catching tricks automobile manufacturers have used to differentiate higher-priced luxury versions of a car model from value-priced versions of it has been to vary the amount of chrome trim on the vehicle. Base model cars and trucks (also known as "strippers" or "entry level") have little if any chrome while luxury and top-of-the-line ones...
