The Maserati Spyder is a 2-seat roadster, produced by Italian auto manufacturer Maserati from 2002 to 2007. In 2007 Maserati ceased its production and replaced the Spyder by the GranTurismo. The Spyder was unveiled at the 2001 Frankfurt Auto Show. As soon as it was introduced in North America, Forbes nominated the Spyder as the Best GT for 2001. The convertible is based on Ferrari/Maserati 4244 cc V8 platform and is equipped with Cambiocorsa six-speed electro-hydraulic manual transmission.
