The Italian automaker introduced the American version of the 2012 GranTurismo MC Stradale at the 2011 New York Auto Show. The MC Stradale is based on the Trofeo GranTurismo MC and is designed to be the fastest, most powerful, and the lightest. The new two-seater is not a street legal vehicle, it is for track use only. The special edition will be available for Canadian and US markets only.

Under the hood the vehicle has 4.7-liter V8 engine delivering 450 horsepower and 376 lb-ft. of torque. The motor is mated to the electro-actuated six-speed manual transmission. The Maserati MC Stradale accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds and can reach the maximum speed of 185 mph. The GranTurismo features 116-inch wheelbase and weights 4,000 pounds. The new MC Stradale features the Human-Machine Interface allowing driver to change the driving mode. The new suspension and custom designed Pirelli tires make the vehicle more agile.

The 2012 Maserati MC Stradale comes with the same exterior as the Trofeo GranTurismo MC, but has upgraded rear bumper and side skirts to reduce lift at high speeds. The interior gets new dash kit and black accents instead of the chrome trim that is found on the standard GranTurismo.
