Measure the blades on your existing fan and choose a fan that’s the same diameter as your existing fan to be sure it will fit in your fan shroud. These lightweight fans use blades made of thin, glass-filled nylon. The flexible blades move lots of air at low speeds, especially when you’re idling or creeping through traffic. But as the engine speeds up, the blades flatten out so they don’t suck as much power or make as much noise. Relax, they still move plenty of air; in fact you don’t need a fan at all over about 20 mph because the air moving through the radiator on its own is plenty. Rated to 8,000 RPM, the Texas Twister is great for street vehicles, towing, or all-out race cars.
