Flexplate Balance Plate by Lakewood®. Lakewood offers a wide range of custom shaped and weighted plates that bolt on and rotate with your existing flex plate when engine balancing needs to be accomplished using externally mounted counterweights. Effectively eliminate reciprocal vibration that can destroy main engine bearings and other components. High-grade steel is double welded for racetrack levels of strength and rigidity, and durable zinc plated finish effectively resists corrosion, scrapes, and oil-based contaminants. See Product Options field for choices and fitment notes.

Counterweights for your crankshaft exist to offset vibrations caused by the up-and-down motion of heavy pistons and the reciprocating movement of connecting rods inside your engine block. On some smaller engine blocks that contain larger pistons and/or deeper stroke lengths, there is insufficient room inside the block for counterweights large enough to cancel out these vibrations that occur. Lakewood offers a range of perfectly-weighted balancing plates that bolt directly on to your existing flex plate to add the extra reciprocal mass needed – allowing your engine to run smoothly enough that you’d consider stacking wine glasses on top of the hood.
Whether you’ve got a small block Ford V8, small block 400 cubic inch V8, big block Chevy 454, or are building custom motors such as a 383, Lakewood advanced computer-aided design ensures the shape is exactly the weight that’s needed, and sophisticated CNC machining processes ensures the plate is manufactured with the exact uniform thickness and strength. There’s no benefit to using the wrong parts and experiencing vibrations that destroy main bearings and other components when you can buy the best Flex plate Balancing Plates from Lakewood. High-grade steel provides superior strength and zinc plating effectively guards against corrosion, scrapes, and oil-based contaminants.15.75 28.68

Founded in Lakewood, Ohio in 1965, Lakewood Industries got its start as a small fabrication shop building beefed up transmission bell housings, ladder bars, traction bars and other suspension braces that were purpose-built to enhance safety and performance on the drag strip while surviving the punishment the way no other products could. As the company’s reputation for building quality products spread, Lakewood grew and became actively involved in championship racing events throughout the United States – becoming the premiere supplier of racing products they are today. Currently, Lakewood is a major supporter of IHRA and UMTR racing events and draws on a wealth of engineering talent from being part of the Prestolite Performance group which includes Accel Ignition, Mr. Gasket, Hays, Mallory Marine, and Prestolite Wire. CARiD is proud to offer the best values you’ll find on the full range of Lakewood bell housings, coilovers, flex plates, safety shields, spacers, structural braces, lowering kits, driveline products, suspension hardware, and more. All are designed to add responsiveness, chassis balance, control, and stability to improve traction during launch and cornering.
