About Kia Venga

The Kia Motors and Hyundai Motors automakers began production of the mini multi-purpose vehicle under Kia Venga name in 2009. Its re-badged variant Hyundai ix20 was based on the Hyundai i20 platform and debuted at the 2010 Paris Auto Show. The Kia Venga made its debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The vehicle shared subcompact platform with the Kia Soul. Although the Kia Venga is an impressive representative of the B-segment MPV market, the compact vehicle offers maximum cabin space typical for the larger C-segment. The 2,615 mm long wheelbase is unusually long for its class, and high roof line ensures maximum interior space as well. The Kia Venga is designed, engineered and produced in Europe, but it is planed to be marketed worldwide.

Kia Venga is offered in LX, EX, and TX trim levels with a wide selection of various options. All Venga models are available with an option of two diesel and two petrol engines that are paired with automatic or manual transmissions at choise. The Kia's fuel-stretching Start/Stop (ISG) technology allows to reduce fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. All engines are highly efficient and meet the Euro 5 standards. Diesel power comes from 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter four-cylinder engines with the output ranging from 75 hp to 128 hp. Those drivers who prefer gasoline engines to diesel ones, can choose between two Kia's Gamma family engines. The smaller 1.4-liter engine produces 90 hp, while the larger 1.6-liter engine rates 125 hp. The choice of transmissions includes 5- or 6-speed manual transmission and 4-speed automatic transmission.

Maintaining the best Kia tradition, the Kia Venga models are provided with various equipment options, which are available on competitor vehicles only at extra cost. A wide range of standard features includes adjustable driver's seat, split folded rear seat with ventilation ducts, electronic front windows and four audio speakers. In addition to the standard equipment, the extensive list of options includes the all-glass panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, fully automatic air-conditioning, satellite navigation, a choice of audio systems and voice activated bluetooth. The Kia Venga has the following standard safety features: 6 airbags, anti-lock braking system and emergency brake assistance, traction control system and brake assistance system. Depending on each market, the electronic stability control is offered as standard or as a factory-fitted option. Additional safety options are rear parking assist system, and a new reversing camera that transmits images to a 3.5-inch LCD display panel installed within the rear view mirror.

New Kia Venga brings a new dynamic design in the compact sector of multi-purpose vehicles. It offers the combination of practicality and style, functionality and impressive design. The Kia's developing design includes three-cylinder instrument cluster and the four-spoke steering wheel that is reputed to be a future Kia trademark. Kia Venga exceeds in width and length the representatives of its class, but its proportions combine dynamic with convenience. The new style, materials and finish of Kia parts surely delight the car owners and introduce the company's 'power to surprise' to those unfamiliar with Kia brand. Kia Venga Becomes Fullsky

An upgraded version of the Kia Venga, featuring panoramic roof and new equipment, is already available. The company's suppliers made everything possible for the Venga to become not simply new but an all-new car.

An optional 'Panorama' electric roof, supplied by Webasto Donghee Co., covers almost the entire roof. It is two-piece, it is tilt-and-slide, and it helped the car to get a new name – the Kia Venga Fullsky. Another upgrade the MPV got are halogen headlights and tail lights supplied by the Italian Magneti Marelli S.p.A. The Venga Fullsky comes with a choice of petrol and diesel 1.4-l and 1.6-l engines. All of them can be equipped with the stop-start system, which automatically shuts down and restarts the engine. Japan's Denso Corp. supplies the starter for the system, while Delphi Automotive LLP and Robert Bosch GmbH provide other important components. The stop-start system provides substantial fuel economy, especially in city driving, reducing emissions to 117 grams of carbon dioxide per km. The Fullsky is already sold in Europe with the price starting at about $19,000. It is yet unknown when the MPV will come to the US dealerships.
