Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailer Hitches

About Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailer Hitches

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is an awesome vehicle to drive. It performs well on paved roads as well as off the beaten track. Its off roader credentials are impressive, having the capacity to travel great distances in the open country. The Grand Cherokee is a mid-size SUV and is therefore spacious enough to accommodate a small family and some luggage. It’s strong enough to tow a pull a trailer, enabling you to ship all your heavy stuff. And with a hitch from CARiD, you can rest assured your trailer will reach your destination firmly attached to your car. CARiD stocks top grade Jeep Grand Cherokee trailer hitches from the most reliable manufacturers. They stock from reputable brands such as CURT, REESE, ONKI, and TOW READY among others. Before you purchase a trailer, ensure you know your car’s towing capacity. It is always advisable to tow within your vehicle’s weight class to avoid damage to your car.

Jeep Grand Cherokee trailer hitches are designed to bolt right into your car. In most instances, drilling will not be required. They are designed precisely to fit a specific make or model of a certain car. They include weight-carrying hitches and weight-distribution hitches for small and medium trailers. On the other hand, gooseneck and 5th wheel hitches are made for pickup trucks and the large trailers. Your choice will depend on your car’s towing capacity and type of trailer you will be pulling. Weight-distribution hitches are preferred because they are equipped with spring bars, which transfer some weight to the front axle. A weight-carrying hitch will require an equalizing hitch to distribute the load weight equitably. Installation is a simple procedure that you can do at home. It will take you less than half an hour to accomplish successfully. However, if you are not up to the task, have it installed at the local repair shop.

Here at CARiD we have a loyal set of customers, and they are very involved with their cars. That means using them in many ways, or racing them or towing them to car shows on trailers. They know towing, is what we’re saying. And 7 of them left a number of reviews with an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. We know you’ll feel the same way after towing your toys around, whether it’s a race car, a trailer full of quads or motorcycles or personal watercraft or full-on camper. CARiD has the parts you need to support your hobby!

When you’re setting up your trailer with a new tow vehicle, several things need to be considered: the ball mount and ball must be rated to take the weight, and the ball has to be at the right height. Once you have determined the proper weight class, choose a ball mount of a high enough class for your trailer, and set up your ball mount and ball for proper towing. Here's how you do that.

"Perfect hitch for my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Took only minutes to install - really! May need extra leverage on your wrench to initially crack the factory-tightened bolts, but from there, it's a breeze. The best thing was the incredibly quick processing and delivery by CARiD. Based on the size of this hitch, I was expecting the delivery to take a week or more at the very least. Was at my door in just 2 days! Very much rates, the 5+ stars!"

"This product looks great and is very easy to install. The only problem is that it shakes a bit when installed. The company provides a "shim" that helps, but you need double-sided tape which is not included."
