In addition to the new engine, the Base and LS got minor changes in the exterior design such as redesigned flush headlights, side moldings, rear bumper, and tail lights. The rear spoiler, split folding rear seats, intermittent windshield wipers were standard for both trim levels, while power windows/mirrors, a tilt steering wheel and a 6-way adjustable driver's seat were the amenities available only for the LS.

The car came standard with a five-speed manual transmission and offered a four-speed automatic transmission as an option for the Base and LS. The Scoupe got Lotus-tuned suspension, which perfectly coped the corners and showed unsurpassed driving dynamics. The Scoupe could accommodate four passengers with comfort.
