The Hyundai Genesis drives great and makes a reliable all-season car. However, relying on the stock exhaust system to keep exhaust away from the engine robs you of the chance to really improve the efficiency of your engine and peak the performance of the car. In as much as the stock exhaust tries to sustain the flow of exhaust gases from the engine, its efforts are hindered by its design. See, manufacturers design the stock exhaust to accomplish two main objectives: reduce engine sound and control exhaust flow. However, the design and construction of the stock exhaust is made with sound control as the primary intention, and this makes it ineffective at getting rid of exhaust gases, a key aspect in the power generation equation. In sharp contrast, the custom exhaust systems sold at CARiD are engineered to make the movement of exhaust gases away from the engine a breeze. They work by increasing exhaust flow so that any impurities surrounding the engine are few, if any. This ensures that oxygen and fuel burn purer to give higher horsepower.

To enjoy maximum power gains from your Hyundai Genesis exhaust system, buy the exhaust that is custom built for your engine size. This will ensure that the same volume of exhaust is supported right from the engine cylinder to the headers and all the way to the tailpipe, keeping the flow consistent. Fortunately, CARiD stocks Borla, Injen, MagnaFlow, Gibson, Flowmaster, Weapon-R, RBP and Onki exhaust systems and exhaust kits for all 2009 – 2013 Hyundai Genesis models. Using a performance header, muffler or other exhaust kit alongside any of the complete exhaust systems will give between 30hp and 60hp. The exhaust system alone will give you between 7% and 10% more power. With greater power comes improved fuel efficiency. Your gas mileage will jump by 1-2mpg. There is also the powerful roar your car acquires, courtesy of the custom Hyundai Genesis exhaust.

Engines have often been compared to air pumps, because the engine that’s most efficient in terms of economy and power is the one that can get air in and out of its cylinders the easiest. That’s why most performance modifications like conical air filters, cold air intake systems, headers, and cat-back exhaust systems are aimed at making the intake and exhaust systems less restrictive. These parts increase the flow of air into the engine and ease the flow of exhaust gas out of the engine. Among these components, headers may be the most difficult to install. In this article, we’ll discuss what headers do, their different types, and how much performance they can add to your car.

You may be wondering why so many aftermarket performance exhaust system manufacturers are offering dual exhaust systems connected by "H-pipe" or "X-pipe" sections. After all, aren't two separate pipes, or so-called "true duals", the best for performance? The answer is no, but to understand why we have to examine how a typical internal combustion engine works.

It's an age-old question that many have asked. Will an aftermarket exhaust be worth the expense? While they definitely can be, an important question to ask yourself is do you care more about the deeper sound they’re designed to produce, or the added performance gained from being less restrictive? As car enthusiasts, we’ve become accustomed to associating the sound of a car with its exhaust. After all, doesn’t everyone have a childhood memory or two of a car and the particular sound it made?

Regardless of whether you're shopping for a simple replacement muffler that delivers original equipment (OE) sound and performance or an upgraded muffler which provides a deeper growl with increased power through freer exhaust flow, you'll see choices between "direct fit" mufflers and "universal" mufflers. In this article, we'll help you understand the differences between these two styles so you can make a more informed purchase.

    Luvin' It!
I was originally fearful about the sound of this system on my new Hyundai Genesis V8. I was hoping for a moderately aggressive sound, as well as the nudge in HP & MPG, but didn't want to destroy the quiet ride this vehicle provides at cruising speed. Well, it's perfect on all counts. I think I can feel the additional power, it definitely added a low growl during acceleration through the gears, but completely settles down at any consistent speed. I had mine professionally installed, but spoke to the mechanic who indicated that while it was an involved installation, due to other parts that had to be removed and reinstalled, the unit itself fit up very nicely. Great product!
