About GMC Sierra Denali

The GMC Sierra Denali is the luxury version of the popular full-size truck. It first appeared in 2001 as a higher-class version of the Sierra 1500 known as the C3. Featuring all-wheel drive and a 6.0L Vortec 6000 V8, the C3 was certainly a noticeable step-up from the entry-level 1500. A year later, GMC changed the name to the Sierra Denali and added Quadrasteer along with a heartier Vortec 6000 V8 that could pump out 345 horsepower. Plus, with a towing capacity of 9,100 pounds and the ability to haul approximately 1,600 pounds in the truck bed, the Sierra Denali was immediately attractive to a large segment of truck buyers who craved extra power as well as cushier amenities.

From 2002 through 2004, the GMC Sierra Denali was standard equipped with the 6.0L V8 and Quadrasteer. In 2005, GMC discontinued Quadrasteer from its roster, meaning the Denali would no longer feature it as a main selling point. The automaker found the 4-wheel drive steering system to be too expensive to include, even on their upscale Denali line. For 2007, the Sierra Denali was redesigned, and some the under-hood Sierra Denali parts were upgraded. The front-end billet grille was now uniform with all GMC Denali vehicles, allowing for a bolder hole-punch look. The dash layout was also in line with the other models in the Denali lineup. However, it was the engine that saw the most attention. Gone was the previously standard 6.0L Vortec. In its place, a 6.2L V8 capable of 403 horsepower (and mated to a 6-speed transmission) was introduced. All-wheel drive became optional, as well.

The Sierra Denali now offers a slew of comforts inside the cab. An MP3 compatible audio system with a 6-disc CD changer has been included along with Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control, OnStar navigation, heated (power) adjustable seats, power windows, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and remote-start. The exterior boasts a painted bumper, daytime running lights, chrome door handles, chrome grille, chrome bodyside molding, and front fog-lights. Front airbags and rear-parking assist highlight the safety features. The GMC Sierra Denali has maintained a strong foothold in the domestic luxury truck market. Marketed towards professional contractors and the everyday trucker alike, the Sierra Denali covers a wide range of needs both for work and for play.

The words "luxury" and "truck" don't go together too often. But with the GMC Sierra Denali they belong side by side. Yes, the Sierra Denali shows off enough burly performance to perform even the most macho of tasks any truck driver needs. And sure, it has the hauling capability needed to transport cargo from A to B. But that's just details. The GMC Sierra Denali also delivers sleek, imposing style along with more comfort inside the cab than any other in its class. 2011 GMC Sierra Denali: The Champion Truck

Edmunds Inside Line has recently put three HD trucks up against each other. And guess what, the winner is the 2011 GMC Sierra 3500 HD Denali. The two rivals of the GMC were the 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 and the 2011 Ford F-350 Super Duty. All three are powered by a diesel engine, all three are 4WD, all have single rear wheels, and all of them wear a crew cab.

The 3rd place was taken by the Dodge Ram 3500, though it has shown good results. According to Edmunds Inside Line, the Ram 3500 needs a more powerful engine to keep up with the other two trucks. For those who live in flat areas it is still a good option, and plus, the 3500 is the least expensive in the group. The 2011 Ford F-350 Super Duty didn't manage to get the 1st prize because it is way too expensive compared to the rivals. The truck did made the most horsepower and generated the most torque though. As for the winner, the 2011 GMC Sierra 3500 HD Denali appeared to be a perfect blend of the functionality and price. The vehicle does all the important truck things well. Whether towing or not, the truck accelerates, brakes and even drives better compared to the Dodge Ram and Ford F-350. The GMC performs well, it is efficient, and what is really important, it doesn't cost a lot and drinks less fuel.
