The engine of a modern vehicle is a complex assembly whose malfunctions can be rather hard to find and fix. To facilitate repair work, there are several kinds of diagnostics, however, not all of them are sufficiently effective and informative. OBD trouble codes can help, but sometimes they show just a consequence without revealing the reason. Carefully analyzing such issues, the Canadian company named General Technologies Corp. has developed a range of specialized devices allowing both amateur mechanics and professional technicians to learn in details how the engine performs and quickly spot the problem.

For instance, the GTC605 fuel injection analyzer can detect ECU control signals, injector opening and closing response times, RPM, and other parameters, which are displayed in a graphic form on the tool's 3.5" color TFT LCD screen. The readings from each cylinder can be easily compared, and occasional misfires can be visualized along with possible problems with the injector itself, even if it gets a clear and strong signal from a control module. The analyzer is compatible with solenoid and piezoelectric systems and can be used in cars, trucks, marine engines, etc.

Also, the company offers the ST05 oxygen sensor tester simulator whose user-friendly interface allows you to determine an actual state of an oxygen sensor. It works with zirconium, titanium, wide-band, 5-volt, unheated, and other kinds of sensors revealing even so-called “lazy” sensors, which perform notably worse and slower than the new ones but don't light up the “Check Engine” indicator. Of course, the experts at GTC could not leave the ignition system without attention and developed an engine ignition analyzer which also builds graphics and shows burn time, dwell angle, ramp time, and other parameters in real time for virtually any kind of ignition systems. Besides, the company manufactures multimeters, infrared thermometers, laser tachometers, cordless circuit testers, high and low current clamp meters, etc. The last category includes the GTC CM100 low current clamp meter, one of the most popular tools used for measuring current in different systems, detecting voltage drops and current leaks, and checking alternators, ignition wires, relays, diodes, and so on.
