It has been a battle of the ages to make exhaust sound like it should. Having less bends or turns will not only improve the sound but also performance. A custom exhaust is always an option for the race inspired and spirited weekend warriors. Our manufactures offer everything needed to build a custom exhaust to your preference.
The consensus opinion among exhaust flow experts is that any V8 engine will benefit from a dual exhaust system with an H-pipe or X-pipe. H-pipes were first installed to quiet this exhaust noise. As with the H-pipe, an X-pipe also affects the sound of the exhaust. With an X-pipe, the two sides of the exhaust system are merged. The exhaust pressure on both banks is equalized and power is increased at all engine speeds.

"I had the garage that I deal with do the install. They told me that it was a simple install and made to match the Bird. The system looks great on the car. I was concerned that is was going to be too loud. When you first start the car and as you are accelerating, it has a nice throaty sound, but as you get up to speed, the sound quiets right up. Very pleased!"

"The Flowmaster Outlaw Series exhaust is exactly what I was wanting! The sound is great and makes the car sound like a 5.0 L. Very deep growl but not too much! The fit was very good, but the weep holes in the tips are not perfect on the bottom, but I think it will be okay!"

"This exhaust system is not from the cat back, there is a piece of pipe 22.5" long that they don't include. My muffler had a 11" piece of pipe welded to it, they illuminate it, witch is not a problem. I would have gave it a 5 star if not for that pipe."

"Mild growl slightly louder than stock was an under statement!! They are really loud and prevent conservation at hi-way speeds. I will wait till I take a high way trip and live with them awhile before I decide to keep them or change them."
