When it comes to American trucks, no series is more prominent than the Ford F-Series. Dating back to the late 1940s, the Ford F-Series has helped shape the landscape in which pickup trucks are designed, built, and marketed. This is also a family of trucks that is credited with providing millions and millions of drivers with a reliable means of industrious transportation in all walks of life. Over the course of the last few decades, the F-Series has grown in leaps and bounds, establishing an identity that speaks for itself. The Ford F-450 is an excellent example of this. Previously only available as a commercial fleet vehicle for towing companies, specialized contractors, and the like, the F-450 parts were redesigned in 2007 and presented to showrooms for the first time. Currently, it is part of Ford's vaunted Super Duty lineup along with the F-250 and F-350, respectively.

The Ford F-450 is powered by a 6.4L turbodiesel V8 engine that provides about 350 horsepower directed through either a six-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic. The model can also be had as both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, and all variants of the truck come with dual rear-wheels, which increases the amount of weight the truck-bed can accommodate with sufficient stability. Where it really stands out is in its towing capacity. The Ford F-450 is capable of towing up to 24,500 pounds with a fifth-wheel. This has made the F-450 a popular choice for drivers who own boats, recreational vehicles, or have other trailing needs.

Thus far, the F-450's cab is based on trim. Trim levels are the base XL (regular cab), XLT (supercab), Lariat (crew cab), and a King Ranch Package Lariat. The Ford F-450 comes with such standard parts as 19.5” alloy wheels, commercial grade tires, an AM/FM stereo, vinyl upholstery, and a Tow Command system designed to control the trailer brakes with the brakes on the truck. For the XLT, cloth upholstery, power accessories, a CD stereo with MP3 capability, air conditioning, and cruise control are featured. As with most Ford trucks, the Lariat is considered the luxury trim. For the F-450 Lariat, leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, fog lights, and power-seating are the featured parts.
