Grille guards belong to those few accessories intended to add instant front-end safety and give outstanding looks to light trucks and SUVs. When properly installed, the grille guard provides a tough shield against everyday hazards, including rocks and whatever else obstacles, not to mention other vehicles on the road!
A winch can be an extremely useful tool while exploring off-road trails far from civilization, rescuing another vehicle while cruising on the beach, or landscaping in your own back yard. All winches are given a pull rating – which determines the amount of weight that the unit can safely pull. A generally accepted formula is to choose a winch that is rated for at least 1.5 times the weight you will need to pull.
Properly designed, properly built and properly mounted grille guards offer very good protection for a vehicle front. The protective value of small chrome bars protruding under the bumper is debatable, but there is no denying that they look good and that they provide an excellent mount for auxiliary lights.

"I bought the Steelcraft 51200 for my 2006 Ford Expedition. Quality is pretty decent. Instructions are OK. Wish it had a little more detail instructions, but weren't too terribly hard to figure out. Overall, happy with the product."

"It is indeed a one man installation and looks great when installed except for the welding transmittal marks on the verticle braces. They should have been ground down and smoothed before polishing or chroming-it ruins a "clean" look. I would recommend leaving one bolt in the tow hook bracket assembly when attaching to the frame. I also had a couple of extra brackets that did not seem to fit anywhere. O well, they went back into the bag never to be installed!"
