EMICO is an industry leader in original equipment (OE) emissions and exhaust systems for on- and off-highway applications. The company's expertise is also utilized to serve the automotive aftermarket offering a full range of direct and universal catalytic converters, mufflers, resonators and pre-bent pipe assemblies. EMICO provides a wide range of tubular and welded assemblies for a wide variety of markets. With expertise in tube bending and forming,it produces rollover protection systems (ROPS) and occupant protective systems (OPS) as well as steering control levers, brush guards, push-bars, light bars and racks.

The company's manufacturing system is a modern catalytic converter assembly line equipped with automatic welding machines, employing robotics and other types of automation. The line uses dedicated tooling for particular models, rigorously controlled process parameters and well-trained people to ensure the consistent quality of EMICO products. This approach applies to all the products it manufactures. The company's facilities are ISO9001:2000 certified with top-of-the-line quality control systems.

MICO was established in Barrie, Ontario, Canada in 1996 as a spin-off of a Volkswagen Canada plant, which had existed in Barrie for approximately 15 years. One group of products manufactured at this VW plant was a family of automotive catalytic converters for Original Equipment (OE) production needs. EMICO purchased from VW Canada all the production equipment, tooling, Q.A. gauges, parts and materials inventory to continue production of these catalytic converters. EMICO initially only provided OE catalytic converters to Volkswagen but has since broadened its coverage to include OE replacement catalytic converters for the aftermarket and other specialty OEM customers.

EMICO designs, tests and builds converters to extremely high standards, to ensure top performance and outstanding durability. Located in Milton, Ontario, Canada, WHITMAN MANUFACTURING was founded in 1989 and jointed forces with EMICO in 2014. The operation remains a forerunner in the automation and design of various processes and products for the production of emissions, exhaust and related components for manufacturers and OEMs as well as the automotive aftermarket.

The Milton operation is now headquarters for all EMICO processes, including all tooling and manufacturing processes; also all the former Barrie processes, with the ability to custom design and built equipment and tooling in the on-site tool & die machine shop. The Milton operation has also established a reputation for providing tooling equipment for other manufacturers with a specialty in metal forming and welding. Some of the industry segments served include seating, exhaust, emissions, telecommunications, storage and stampings.
