Microfiber cloth is ideally suited for cleaning cars. The structure of the microfiber thread has voids that lift particles of dirt and keep them trapped until the cloth is laundered. Contrast that with cotton, which has far less surface area, and can actually leave particles of cellulose behind. Better yet, microfiber can trap as much as seven times its weight in water. Microfiber cleaning cloths have an exceptional ability to absorb oils (like fingerprints), and are simply not hard enough to scratch your paintwork unless they’re dirty from previous use. Use these towels for light dusting when dry, for washing and drying your car body, or for buffing wax and other detailing products back off after application.
Simply toss them in a bucket with some detergent to clean them, or wait until you have accumulated enough dirty ones to run a load through the washing machine on their own. Don’t wash them with other fabrics, or use fabric softener or bleach, as the cotton fibers and waxy fabric softener will clog their small fibers and reduce their effectiveness. Tumble dry on LOW or just wring them out and let them air dry, or you may melt the fibers. The same goes for ironing: don’t, or you may partially melt the fibers, reducing their effectiveness.
Founded in 2007, Eco Touch is dedicated to bringing products to market that are not only effective, but eco-friendly, plant-derived where possible, and distributed in recyclable containers and packaging. Part of that effort includes reducing the consumption of water while keeping vehicles clean, and to reduce the use of harsh chemicals like solvents, additives and VOCs in household products. The company has been featured in many prominent media outlets such as National Geographic, Treehugger.com, The New York Times and Body + Soul. Eco Touch products are now distributed in more than 20 countries and online.
