    February 2011 brought yet another award to the Dodge Durango, which had been recently selected as the Truck of the Show for the Cleveland Auto Show. This time it was MotorWeek that honored the redesigned crossover. CEO of the Dodge brand accepted the award at the 2011 Chicago Auto show on March 10, 2011.

    Since 1983, MotorWeek annually checks new vehicles to pick the best ones and present them with the Driver's Choice Award. MotorWeek looks at the vehicles from a buyer’s point of view and evaluates such factors as technology, practicality, performance, and value. It seems that this year there have been a lot of decent vehicles as the 2011 Durango shares the award in the Best Large Utility category with the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The MotorWeek's team pointed out the world-class handling and fuel-efficient, powerful engines of the Dodge Durango, recognizing that the brand creates quality products, which exceed customer expectations.

    Nowadays, consumers want new vehicles to be green and efficient. At the same time, they don't want to lose in comfort and style. Well, the MotorWeek Drivers' Choice Award, just like other awards, proves that the Dodge Durango is a really worthy SUV to be bought.

    Launched in 1998, the Dodge Durango quickly became popular. Eventually, the model was hit heavily by changing times and the Durango seriously lost its position in the market. With a revised look and feel, the Dodge Durango returns in model-year 2011.

    Risen from the ashes Durango is based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee platform. The redesigned vehicle promises better handling, improved fuel efficiency, 28 seating configurations with up to 85 cubic feet of cargo and storage areas, as well as more options. As expected, engines will be the new V-6 providing 6,200 lbs of towing and the optional Hemi V-8 making up to 7,400 lbs of towing.

    Pricing for the new Durango starts at $29,195 for the rear-wheel drive and $31,195 for the four-wheeler.

    With the 2011 Dodge Durango, Chrysler makes a solid attempt to meet the requirements of tough competition and take back some of its market share in the SUV segment.
