    2010 Chrysler Sebring Recall

Last week, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that certain 2010 Chrysler Sebring vehicles must be recalled due to the steering problems. Some of the vehicles are equipped with steering hoses that can develop leaks. The recall affects Sebrings that were produced between June 24 and August 30, the others do not have the problem. The Sebring is not the only model to be recalled though. The problem with the steering pressure hose assembly may occur on the Chrysler 300, Dodge Avenger, Dodge Challenger, and Dodge Journey.

On its web-site, the NHTSA said that steering hoses can separate at the crimped end of the power steering pressure hose assembly. As a result, power steering fluid may leak on the hot engine components, which may potentially cause a fire. Chrysler announced that it is not aware of any injuries or accidents caused by the problem. As the company knows which vehicles are affected, it will notify all owners of the recall. The owners will be invited to a dealership to have the power steering pressure hose replaced. The safety recall is to begin in the mid November.
