Chevy SSR Performance Exhausts

About Chevy SSR Performance Exhaust Systems

The Chevy SSR is remarkable. It gives a very satisfactory performance on the road and is comfortable in most terrains. But the performance of your SSR and your driving thrill can be boosted with a custom exhaust system from CARiD. Much as stock exhaust systems keep the car going and support the engine to a great extent, they are also limiting in a way. The stock exhaust design does not optimize exhaust flow, which means that for the entire period the car is fitted with the stock exhaust system, the engine does not generate the highest amount of horsepower. Enter the custom exhaust. Larger and wider in diameter, the custom exhaust is designed to allow maximum flow of exhaust gases. What this does is clear the exhaust system passageways so the engine can breathe easy and enjoy uninterrupted fresh air and fuel intake, both of which contribute to power generation. Also, as there are no unwanted gases chocking the engine, it is free to operate as-should and produce more power as a result.

With a custom exhaust system, your SSR will have greater torque, which essentially means you can pull off at awkward terrains with ease and carry heavier loads without dragging. More horsepower also means the ability to accelerate faster and enjoy greater power at low rpm. For many people, the exhaust system is not worth much if it doesn’t sound great. SSR custom exhausts are a pleasure to listen to. They have a pronounced roar which remains controlled even at cruising speeds, with some brands such as Borla and Flowmaster giving you the ability go choose the sound you want for your SSR. To enjoy all three benefits of a custom exhaust – power, torque and sound – pick an SSR exhaust from MagnaFlow or Gibson. For specific increases in power, torque or sound, exhaust kits and components from Flowmaster, Borla, Weapon-R, Onki, RBP, Zunden and MBRP – which you can get from CARiD - will do.

Regardless of whether you're shopping for a simple replacement muffler that delivers original equipment (OE) sound and performance or an upgraded muffler which provides a deeper growl with increased power through freer exhaust flow, you'll see choices between "direct fit" mufflers and "universal" mufflers. In this article, we'll help you understand the differences...
It has been a battle of the ages to make exhaust sound like it should. Having less bends or turns will not only improve the sound but also performance. A custom exhaust is always an option for the race inspired and spirited weekend warriors. Our manufactures offer everything needed to build a custom exhaust to your preference.
Headers are installed because the stock exhaust manifolds usually flow poorly. An exhaust header has individual tubes for each exhaust port, allowing each exhaust pulse to flow unobstructed from the cylinder head. The tubes on headers are usually larger in diameter than the runners on an exhaust manifold and the tubes are mandrel bent for gradual radius bends.

2006 Chevy SSR
| Posted by | (Bristow, VA)

As indicated in the title, I am highly impressed with the quality and workmanship of the Corsa exhaust system I purchased for my 2006 Chevy SSR. Installation was a breeze with the simple instructions provided. After removing the old system, it only took approximately 45 minutes to install and adjust everything to my satisfaction. Considering I'm not an everyday mechanic, it goes to show the perfection and quality of both the system and the company. I highly recommend both the product this company sells and the company that stands behind their product.
