Chevy Impala Trailer Hitches

The Chevy Impala has an elegant styling design and a great ride quality. The car is quite spacious, with room enough to carry a couple of six footers. It’s a strong vehicle and can handle long distance travel quite comfortably. It also has an impressive towing capacity. You could easily hitch a trailer to it and haul your big stuff to any destination. Sports enthusiasts would enjoy hitching their bike racks on to the back of the vehicle. There are many different types of trailer hitches available to help make this possible. However, very few can match the stock carried by CARiD. CARiD stocks merchandise from the most reputable brands. Brand names such as Curt, Reese, Draw-Tite and Hidden Hitch are some of their most renowned Chevy Impala trailer hitches suppliers. These names are big on quality and durability. Their products are designed by professional engineers using the latest techniques to guarantee precision and safety.

Chevy Impala trailer hitches are easy to install. They bolt right into your vehicle. No drilling is required. The manufacturers provide an instruction manual to go with the product, to guide you as you install the hitch. If you are not a do-it-yourself kind of person, then have your local mechanic install it for you. There are two different types of trailer hitches you can use with the Chevy Impala sedan. You may opt for a weight carrying trailer hitch. This one requires an equalization hitch to help distribute the load to the front axle. Weight distribution helps stabilize the vehicle on the road. A weight distribution hitch would be a better choice because it comes with a spring back mechanism that transfers some weight onto the front axle. Chevy Impala trailer hitches from CARiD generally come with a limited lifetime warranty guaranteeing against all kinds of defects.

    Guides & Articles
If you are using your "daily driver" car or truck for occasional towing duty, you are looking for that ideal sweet spot where the weekday commute is comfortable and quiet, and the weekend trailering feels solid and secure. In other words, you don't want to vehicle to feel too "stiff" during the week, nor do you want it to ride "soft" when pulling a trailer.
This is the year you got serious about your trailering set-up. You've treated yourself to a new, top-of-the-line pickup truck with a tow rating high enough to pull your house off its foundation if necessary. You used your annual bonus to get that bigger boat you had promised yourself (with your spouse's blessing, of course). The boat dealer told you that you could...
When it comes to "electricity", many people are either scared silly of it, or run the other way rather than try to learn about it. Since it is a powerful force, it certainly is something to be respected. For us vehicle owners, perhaps we understand that our cars and trucks have a battery under the hood that needs occasional replacement, and light bulbs that may...

2011 Chevy Impala | Posted by Eric | (Niagara, WI)

Overall a fair installation. I did it by myself and only needs a minimum of wrenches, etc. My muffler is in the way and is difficult but not impossible to work around. The 'fish wires' were a godsend. Only complaint is there should have been 6 of them and not just 4. Fish in and install the two longer bolts first and remove the fish wires. Fish in the remaining shorter bolts (4) and leave the fish wires on. Slide the RH side up on top of the muffler and let it rest on there. Working on your back, slide the hitch on top of you and into rough position. Slowly move the hitch into position with running the fish wires on the LH side into position with the holes and guide the two long bolts through the holes for them. Hold everything steady and carefully install nuts on the two long bolts. Run them up almost completely but give yourself some wiggle room. Now remove the fish wires from the LH side short bolts and carefully start the nuts on them. Now go to the RH side. This is where I employed my bottle jack to raise the hitch up onto the RH short bolts. By laying directly under the muffler I could install the washers and nuts by feel only, one hand from each side of the muffler, on the RH short bolts. To install the remaining washers go back one at a time and remove the nuts, install the washer and nut, and tighten everything up evenly. Unlike so many parts I've installed over many years, this hitch fit perfectly.
