Cadillac Catera Accessories & Parts
The Cadillac Catera is a luxury midsize sedan that was first introduced to North America for the 1997 model year. It replaced the Fleetwood on the Cadillac roster and was constructed on the GM-V rear-wheel drive platform along with the Holden Commodore and Daewoo Prince. When the Catera made its way into the lineup, the Seville took over as Cadillac's premier luxury sedan, while the DeVille occupied the mid-class spot. The model was assembled in Russelheim, Germany, since in Europe the Catera was marketed as the Opel Omega.
Upon its debut, the Cadillac Catera was outfitted with a 3.0L V6 engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. As for its dimensions, the Catera measured 107.5 inches in the wheelbase, 70.3 inches in width, 56.3 inches in height, and had an overall length of 194 inches. In 2000, the model received a bevy of upgrades to the drivetrain Cadillac Catera parts, interior accessories, and exterior styling. Changes included optional Xenon HID headlights, side airbags, a stiffened suspension, new wheels, and a new front fascia. The engine was also given a boost, upping the output to 200 horsepower.
Cadillac released the Catera Sport in 1999. The Catera Sport showcased power-enhancing underhood parts, a firmer suspension, a rear spoiler, and larger wheels. The Catera would stay in production until the 2001 model year before Cadillac decided to drop it from the lineup. Although it only saw a limited run in North America, for its brief tenure of service, the Catera was the recipient of accolades from around the industry. For its inaugural campaign, the Catera was named on Automobile Magazine's All-Star List. For 2000, JD Power & Associates named the Catera the Number One Brand for Sales Satisfaction.
Cadillac's Catera is a smooth-operating midsize sedan recognized as much for its easy-driving attitude as it is for its classy level of comfort. Thanks to a peppy V6 engine, responsive handling, and a nice touch of European luxury, the Catera established itself as a favorite for a wide array of drivers. As the first Cadillac model to be manufactured outside the US, the Catera is an inventive and remarkable reminder of what can make an automobile special.
