Buick Skylark Performance Exhausts

About Buick Skylark Performance Exhaust Systems

The Buick Skylark is a beauty. Beyond its age-old appeal, its engine endurance gives it a real presence on the road. Get more from the Skylark engine with a custom exhaust system from CARiD. Designed to reduce backpressure in the system, a custom exhaust enables the engine to run with little interference, producing more power in the process. There are different custom exhaust systems for the Skylark at the shop, which give up to 10% more horsepower. Top choices include the MagnaFlow rear exit Crossmember-Back exhausts system for 1964-1967 Skylark models (a variation exists for 1968-1972 Skylark models); MagnaFlow cat back exhaust for all 1968-1972 Skylarks models; Flowmaster American Thunder header-back exhaust for 1964 – 1967 & 1968 - 1972 Skylark models; and the Flowmaster dual-rear and header-back exhaust systems for 1964 – 1972 Skylark models. Also available are RBP, Onki, Borla and Gibson exhaust pipes, tips and clamps that will fit different Skylark models and enhance performance.

Getting additional power and a boost in torque is good enough, but that’s not all you get from a Skylark custom exhaust system. Engine sound is the third benefit a custom exhaust gives. If you do not like the loud roar tied to race engines, you can choose an exhaust system that gives a softer rumble. This freedom to dictate how your engine sounds and the numerous options to choose from makes buying a custom exhaust a fun indulgence. When you buy an aftermarket exhaust from CARiD, you can be sure that you won’t be back to replace the exhaust as it is built for durability. Most of the exhausts at the shop come with lifetime warranties, limited lifetime warranties and at the very least, a three-year warranty, which should take away any anxiety you have over reliability.

Unbridled power and outrageous sound - that's what accompanies each exhaust system we store for you on our digital shelves. Manufactured from the premium materials using the latest technologies, they all are ready to complete the image of your vehicle and give you instant horsepower and torque gains. After an exhaust system is installed, your vehicle will roar like a lion and run like a cheetah. Have doubts? It has been a battle of the ages to make exhaust sound like it should. Having less bends or turns will not only improve the sound but also performance. A custom exhaust is always an option for the race inspired and spirited weekend warriors. Our manufactures offer everything needed to build a custom exhaust to your preference.
The consensus opinion among exhaust flow experts is that any V8 engine will benefit from a dual exhaust system with an H-pipe or X-pipe. H-pipes were first installed to quiet this exhaust noise. As with the H-pipe, an X-pipe also affects the sound of the exhaust. With an X-pipe, the two sides of the exhaust system are merged. The exhaust pressure on both banks is equalized and power is increased at all engine speeds.

"Easy to install, except you're going to need two bolts to mount the catalytic, cat back does not come with bolts. But overall a good experience, any good purchase change 2 miles to the gallon."
