About Buick Enclave

The Buick Enclave was unveiled for the fist time at the 2006 North American International Auto Show as a concept car based on the new GM's Lambda platform and partially on the Buick Centieme concept. Sales of this full-size SUV started in 2008 as a replacement for the minivan-based Rendezvous and Terraza and truck-based Rainer. The first year model was equipped with the 3.6L V6 engine that delivered 275 horsepower and was mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Later, the Buick Enclave parts were refined and updated to bring more fuel economy combined with enhanced power characteristics.

For the first two years of its production, the SUV was suggested in 2 trim levels, the base CX and the luxury CXL. Later, CX, CXL1, and CXL2 modifications appeared in 2010 Enclave. This genuinely first-class vehicle accessories include active headlamps, triple-zone climate control, cooled and heated front seats, rear park assist with camera, leather upholstery, and many other high-end amenities. The front-wheel-drive system comes standard and the optional all-wheel-drive is available.

The roomy Buick Enclave is capable to place 7 adult passengers in 3 rows, with additional 2 rear seats, and is regarded as the largest unibody vehicle in the world. It also got the AJAC Best New SUV/CUV in 2008 and was noted for the quality of its interior. Buick Enclave is one of the quietest vehicles in the United States. According to the Customer Reports Magazine, Buick Enclave got an average reliability level and was named to be a 'recommended' vehicle.

You could call the Enclave Buick's new hope for the full-size crossover domination. From its improved MPG to the stock HID headlights, the Buick Enclave features the efficiency and fashion that just might sweep the country off its feet. Its classical, beautifully shaped body, commanding front-end, and top-quality parts underscore the dynamic package that the Enclave offers. While the other big boys on the block have been getting all the attention, the Enclave stands poised to take its place at the very top of the food chain.

2011 Buick Enclave Gets Best Value in America Award

Awards seem to haunt the Enclave. Not that long time ago, the Buick took the Top Safety Pick of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, got the NHTSA's five-star rating, and won the Consumer Digest’s Best Buy award. And yesterday, it received the Vincentric's Best Value in America.

The Buick Enclave got the award in the full-size crossover category, beating the Ford Flex and other rivals. According to David Wurster, president of Vincentric, the Buick Enclave was picked because of its low service costs and low deprecation, which make the ownership cost 3% lower than expected for the similarly priced vehicles in the full-size crossover segment. This is the second time the Enclave gets the Best Value title, not the second in a row though.

The Vincentric's award is a pretty valuable one. The company gives independent evaluation to help consumers' better understand which vehicles give the best value in their segment. Vincentric awards the Best Value in America after analysis of the ownership cost by studying several factors, including depreciation, maintenance, fees and taxes, insurance, fuel, and repairs. The calculations for each vehicle are made on a five-year basis for annual mileages of or 20,000, 15,000, or 10,000 miles. The vehicles are evaluated across all states, including Washington D.C.
