The first generation featured 4WD all-wheel drive, and the current second generation (E70) offers the torque-split xDrive all-wheel drive system with an automatic transmission. The model of the year 2010 was unveiled as a performance variant. I bought these tires for the same reason that you are thinking about buying these tires, they are half the price of the competition and they looked promising. Put these on and you will notice immediately decreased rolling resistance and improved grip. I am using these as my winter tires and they handle great, but most importantly, on dry roads they are almost as good as summer tires, WOW! Thread-wear is also excellent, reported at 460. These are a no brainer for me. Let's see how long they last :)
