The BedTred system is a 5-piece zippered liner that installs with hook and loop fasteners, without damaging the truck bed. While traditional spray-in liners can quickly fade and chalk, the BedTred material is fade and UV resistant. The 1/4" thick foam is similar to that used in life jackets and will not absorb water, resisting mold and mildew. Water will simply run off the surface, through the zippered perimeter, out the factory drain holes in the truck bed and will dry in as little as 20 minutes.
Simply put, the BedTred Pro Series is more versatile than drop-in or spray-in liners. The BedTred Pro Series protects both your truck bed and your cargo with no damage to your bed. Drop-in and spray-in liners may be less expensive to purchase but will cost more in the long run as they tend to lower the trade-in value of your truck. The BedTred Pro Series is designed for folks who work out of their trucks. It can take on gravel, mulch, building materials-even battery acid - without any negative effects. The BedTred Pro Series is textured to grip your cargo and hold it in place. Drop-in liners are not only rough on your cargo but they are also rough on your knees when climbing in to access your cargo.
A vacuum, broom, brush or compressed air can be used to remove dirt, grime, sand, mulch etc. Because water will not harm the BedRug, pressure washing is also an effective way to clean a soiled BedRug. Although most acids will not harm the BedRug, baking soda should be applied immediately to neutralize the acid to ensure the safety of the paint on the vehicle. To clean tougher jobs such as gasoline, oil, chemicals, acid spills or leaks from your BedRug use detergent soap with degreaser and water, then rinse thoroughly. This detergent soap is used in most car wash locations with pressure washing equipment. The BedRug polypropylene closed-cell foam will not absorb water and the polypropylene fiber dries in minutes.
BedRug® is well known throughout the aftermarket, a name synonymous with high quality and innovation. Located in Old Hickory, Tennessee, BedRug got its start as a manufacturer of TPO foam (Thermoplastic PolyOlefin) composites. TPO foams offer a broad range of performance attributes, ranging from softness and flexibility to thermal stability - it is a closed cell construction, which will not absorb moisture, and is similar to the foam used in life jackets. It can be fabricated into a variety of parts that are suitable for exterior applications. Most importantly, it can be laminated to other substrates - and in BedRug's case, those additional materials include 100% polypropylene plastic non-woven "carpet" and the TPO composite that creates BedTred. BedRug is environmentally safe - BedRug products are manufactured from a recyclable TPO/polypropylene composite. All unusable polypropylene materials are recycled into pellets and used in a wide variety of consumer goods. In addition, BedRug products do not contain any prohibited or declarable substances on the Global Automotive Declarable Substance List (GADSL). BedRug was purchased by THI Corp. in 2009.
