Much like the BedRug, the BedRug Mat is made to fit your specific make and model, and will give you the look and feel of carpet in an ultra-tough 100% polypropylene (essentially plastic) product. It will protect your truck while standing up to whatever you can throw at it: from mulch to bleach. With its cushioned foam non-skid surface, it will keep everything in place while protecting your cargo and your knees. The BedRug Mat material is fade and UV resistant. Made of foam similar to that used in life jackets, it doesn't absorb water and will not mold or mildew. Just clean it with a hose, power washer or vacuum and your BedRug Mat is good as new.

A vacuum, broom, brush or compressed air can be used to remove dirt, grime, sand, mulch etc. Because water will not harm the BedRug, pressure washing is also an effective way to clean a soiled BedRug. Although most acids will not harm the BedRug, baking soda should be applied immediately to neutralize the acid to ensure the safety of the paint on the vehicle. To clean tougher jobs such as gasoline, oil, chemicals, acid spills or leaks from your BedRug use detergent soap with degreaser and water, then rinse thoroughly. This detergent soap is used in most car wash locations with pressure washing equipment. The BedRug polypropylene closed-cell foam will not absorb water and the polypropylene fiber dries in minutes.

BedRug® is well known throughout the aftermarket, a name synonymous with high quality and innovation. Located in Old Hickory, Tennessee, BedRug got its start as a manufacturer of TPO foam (Thermoplastic PolyOlefin) composites. TPO foams offer a broad range of performance attributes, ranging from softness and flexibility to thermal stability - it is a closed cell construction, which will not absorb moisture, and is similar to the foam used in life jackets. It can be fabricated into a variety of parts that are suitable for exterior applications. Most importantly, it can be laminated to other substrates - and in BedRug's case, those additional materials include 100% polypropylene plastic non-woven "carpet" and the TPO composite that creates BedTred. BedRug is environmentally safe - BedRug products are manufactured from a recyclable TPO/polypropylene composite. All unusable polypropylene materials are recycled into pellets and used in a wide variety of consumer goods. In addition, BedRug products do not contain any prohibited or declarable substances on the Global Automotive Declarable Substance List (GADSL). BedRug was purchased by THI Corp. in 2009.

Universal Fit Bed Rug
I saw this product in a truck store while I was getting a cap put on my older Toyota Tundra. I asked if they had one that would fit and told me that they didn't, and apparently BedRug did not make one for my year and model, but did have a Universal Fit. Because mine was not pre-cut, pre-measured, if you purchase one for your model, it will be different. Universal fit comes as a big rectangle of "Bed Rug" material, with limited instructions. Basically measure everything from the corner with the tag (lower left if standing on tail gate looking at bed). I cut length, than width, then wheel wells, then trimmed corners to lay flat. Material cuts ok with utility knife, couple passes, and better if you put a board under where you are cutting so you have something to press into. Material also comes rolled, so it is awkward with corners weighed down, and trying to cut straight, or cut out wheel wells. Once you get it cut, you install the little peg things to hold it into the bed. Since I have a cap, I did not use them all. They seem to keep it from blowing out of the back of the truck. The instruction for this part were better, but important part they missed was to work from corner out. You can not drill through liner (they say, imagine it would get wrapped up around bit), so I took ice pick, found where I thought it would go, tapped with hammer through liner, then pulled back liner, pushed pick through all the way to make hole, and drilled where ice pick left mark. Then you can stick in the little "Christmas Tree Fastener" and tap it with the hammer. I have not tried to remove these, but they do not appear to be re-usable, which will make removing to wash off very hard. Installation took about 3-3.5 hours for me, with cutting, drilling and attaching. So far it is working well. I had enough extra to cover the tailgate also. I had been using an old scrap of carpet for the past 8 years, as my bed-liner was very slippery (made the mistake of putting a car battery into the back within a week of owning it and thought I broke the truck). So really this is to keep the dogs cage from sliding back and forth, but is a step up from old carpet, a bit nicer on the knees.
