Unibody vehicles with MacPherson strut front suspension are notorious for front end chassis flex. During hard cornering all the suspension load is transferred to the top of the strut towers, causing them to flex in relation to the rest of the body and allow the wheels to lose traction. Tying the strut towers together with a Competition Strut Tower Brace distributes the load more evenly between the towers and keeps the wheels in position, to maintain tire traction and steering response. The chassis flex phenomenon was so prevalent on the unibody Mustang, that Ford finally began installing strut tower braces on some models; however these would not allow the installation of aftermarket engine modifications like cold air intake kits.

The BBK Competition Strut Tower Brace is designed to eliminate front end chassis flex but still allow most engine modifications, as would be desired for a performance car. The BBK bar is constructed from super strong and rigid tubular steel that’s robotically welded to maintain precise dimensions. It’s available in your choice of polished chrome, titanium powdercoat, or charcoal metallic, and comes with all necessary mounting hardware and detailed installation instructions. The BBK Competition Strut Tower Brace is backed by a 1-year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship, as long as the product was installed according to BBK guidelines.
